Phase 1 Planning

What are my hosting options?

Because Plone is dynamic (not static) web environment you cannot host it in the traditional places.  Here are your options.

1. eMax hosting - We have a server running Plone-Zope that serve your site.

2. Zope-Plone Hosting - Zettai, WebFaction specialized in hosting Plone sites. Prices start at $25/month.l

3. Self hosting - You can purchase your own computer (we support Mac computers) serve from your own location. This is the most expensive option since you pay for your own access (DSL-Cable), and you would have to have a static IP address to serve web pages. None the less, we can set up and provide remote support. You would need to do your own backups, etc.

Domain Name and DNS

I used GoDaddy to get domain names, and pointed them to my web server.

One of the advantages of Godday is that they have 24/7/365 phone support to help resolve problems. Another reason I use them because they help you use your domain name as part of your email.  You get one email address and can purchase more.  This gives you both web and POP access to your email.  It is my experience that this is much better than doing your own email.
